New features in Internet Tree 2.0:
Checks web pages for changes. Internet Tree can now check URLs for
changes made since the last time you viewed the page. Unlike other URL managers, Internet
Tree always knows when you last viewed the page, whether you accessed it from Internet
Tree or directly from your browser. It also is able to quickly detect real changes to a
page. Pages that change just an advertisement will not usually be marked as
"changed."
Import. You can now import URLs into Internet Tree. With the Import
Wizard you can import Favorites from Internet Explorer, bookmarks from Netscape Navigator,
and URLs on any HTML page on your local system or on the Internet.
Export. Using the Export Wizard you can now export URLs to Netscape
bookmarks, IE Favorites, to an HTML page, or to a tab delimited text file.
Drag and Drop. You can now select and drag items to create shortcuts,
open items, or to paste the URL text. With drag and drop you can: create shortcuts on your
desktop, open and view the item in your browser, drop to a browser's bookmark or Favorites
button to create bookmarks in that browser, and paste the URL name into a text document.
You can also drop URLs from other sources into Internet Tree.
Multi-selection. It is now possible to select multiple items in the
tree or list views. This lets you operate on a selection of items to do things such as
view properties for all items, copy the URLs to the clipboard, etc.
Font and Date Format. You can now select the font and customize the
date format. Changing the font also lets you change the character set which can be
important for International sites that use use alternative character sets.
Frame Smart. Previous version of Internet Tree would sometimes log
meaningless URLs that were part of a site's frame set. The new version automatically
detects frame sets and does not log them.
Editable Fields. You can now change a logged site's title, description
and keywords. The fields description and keywords are new to this version of Internet
Tree.
New Logging Options. You can now optionally log the hidden description
and keywords fields contained on many sites.
Backup and Restore. It is now possible to save your current database
and to restore a previously saved database.
Create Site Maps. Using the Import Wizard you can create a site map of
a selected site. To do this, import "An HTML page on the Internet" and check
"Also get bookmarks on child pages of this page." The entire site
structure starting at the selected page will be imported into the tree.
Menus. The program now has an optional menu bar.
