Product name
Batch Rename 3.0 Beta for Windows 2000, XP and Vista

What's new in 3.0

  • Text search and replace
  • Capitalization search and replace
  • Easy to use advanced options using a drop down menu
  • Quick auto-renaming
  • Full Unicode support
  • Windows Vista compatible
  • Full 256bit AES file encryption
  • Same light-weight executable and easy-to-use interface
  • And, as before, completely free of adware, spyware, malware, and anything else you wouldn't want on your computer

Note that this is the RC (release candidate). It does not have an expiration date as the previous betas did. If you are upgrading from a previous version you may have to reboot after installing the update to complete the installation.

If you are having problems installing an updated version over a previous version
Because Batch Rename is tightly integrated with Windows Explorer it can sometimes be difficult to install a new version of the software. The surest method to upgrade Batch Rename is as follows:

  1. Uninstall the old version. Open "Control Panel"/"Add/Remove Programs" (in Vista "Add/Remove Programs" is called "Programs and Features"). Double-click "Batch Rename" from the list and choose to uninstall it.
  2. Reboot Windows
  3. Once you have rebooted, install the new version of Batch Rename using the newly downloaded msi file

Bug reports and suggestions will be appreciated!

* While we do promise future compatibility, and to fix bugs should they be found, please keep in mind that you use the program at your own risk. Renaming system files and encryption (forgetting your password, for instance) can result in loss of data.
